Trojan Riders
Harold Ickes was concerned
About Dewey’s Trojan Riders.
But now the tables have been turned
On the New Deal’s worse insiders.
Honest Harold rode the "Donkey",
But now he is made a monkey
By the gangster fighting Dewey,
Who knows all his claims are screwy,
Just plain lies or maybe hooey,
So he just answers "phooey".
Meeting Issues
Writing poetry is lots of fun
When you know ho to write it.
Making war is fun for some,
If they don’t have to fight it.
Some from danger always run
The moment that they sight it.
Topsy-turvy is the world;
I, FDR, can right it.
In my hands the reins are curled
And my defeat would not delight it.
Changing Horses
"Now who brought that up?" said Governor Dewey.
That’s just a lot of plain old "hooey".
Sure thing, Roosevelt is indispensible,
For reasons that are comprehensible;
For the members of his motley crew
Along with him, get the "boot or shoo".
Because of war, don’t change presidents?
When doing so would be common sense!
Others before Churchill got the gate,
So let us change before it’s too late.
