On this day a year ago
We knelt beside Mom's bed
Her hands in Barbs and Daddys
While I kissed her snow white head.
Stan and Larry went to eat
It was a usual day
Mom said, "I'm going somewhere".
Then she softly slipped away.
She lay there frail and trusting
Her gaze upon the wall
I whispered-Arlyns coming,
But she'd heard the Master's call.
Six loving grandsons bore her
To her final place of rest.
Our hearts were heavy laden
Cause we had lost the best.
Lots of tears were shed that day
And many more since then
I think about her often
Wish we had her back again.
This first year without her
Has been so strange and sad
Only faith can guide us,
A good example is our DAD.
In loving memory of my mom
